Howard Watkinson

Howard completed his undergraduate training at Newcastle University Dental School and immediately headed for post-graduate qualification in orthodontics. Whilst holding hospital posts in Nottingham and then Leicester he was awarded the Fellowship in Dental Surgery (RCS Edin) and the Diploma in Orthodontics (RSC Eng). Howard set up his own specialist practice in Leicester in 1990, moving to our current premises in 1997.

A keen runner and triathlete, Howard has recently taken up ballroom dancing. His grown-up children have mostly left home, but the paternal taxi service continues to be pressed into use – more airport runs than school runs these days.

Sue Straw

Sue qualified in dentistry from Birmingham Dental School in 1976, and for many years ran her own general practice in Leicestershire. A growing interest in orthodontics led her to take a part-time post-graduate orthodontic course at Sheffield University and a clinical assistant post in the orthodontic department at Glenfield Hospital. Sue successfully completed her M.Orth qualification in 1999, and is now committed solely to specialist orthodontic work.

Sue’s free time is spent either with her horses, dipping into a box of watercolour paints, or in the cockpit of an aeroplane.

Our Practice Manager

Helen is responsible for the day-to-day running of Manor Orthodontics.

She ensures we continue to keep up with new regulations and legislation, and maintains our compliance with the British Dental Association’s Good Practice Scheme.

With a background in secondary teaching, she’s especially tuned in to our young patients.

Our Treatment Coordinator

Claire is our Treatment Coordinator. She is usually the first point of contact for our private patients. Her friendly and cheerful manner will help you feel relaxed and assured on your journey through bracewear to a confident smile. She’s currently wearing ceramic braces herself, so you can be sure anything she tells you will be spot on – and she will definitely tell you about her deep sorrow that wearing braces places restrictions on chocolate intake. Claire has previously worked in large corporate settings, and uses her business expertise to develop our practice in many areas, especially promotions.

At weekends Sweep, Stanley and Arthur like to take Claire for long walks in the Leicestershire countryside. She usually gets cleaned up before coming into work, but you may spot the occasional muddy pawmark.....

Our Receptionist

Danielle is usually the first person you’ll see when you come to visit us, so she makes sure she’s always smiling!  As well as receptionist, she’s also our IT, admin and marketing specialist.  The only place you won’t find her is in surgery.
 Danielle is currently wearing braces, so if you have any questions or concerns about your treatment, she can speak from experience.
