Fixed braces (or train-tracks as many people know them), are made up of very small metal brackets glued onto the teeth, with a thin metal wire clipped into the brackets and held in place with coloured bands.

red and green at Christmas,
or your team colours…

At Manor Orthodontics, you get to choose from a wide range of colours each time the bands are changed as your teeth gradually move into place.
Some treatments include wearing elastic bands between the upper and lower braces for a short time. The elastics can be removed and used to flick pellets at teachers or colleagues, but we would strongly discourage this as not only is it iirritating but also makes the treatment take longer.
For those who prefer a more discreet brace, many private patients choose our clear brackets, making brace wear very unobtrusive.
