A removable brace is a plastic plate with wires and clips attached.
If a removable brace is part of your treatment plan, don’t get too excited about the idea of removing it – it should only be taken out for cleaning and some sports.
Some patients need a removable brace before moving on to fixed braces. For others, the removable appliance is a complete treatment in itself.
